Laurel Backman Riddle graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 1984 and was admitted to the Washington State Bar that same year. While at the law school, she served as an editor of the Law Review (a legal publication). She also was certified through the College of Financial Planning, Denver, Colorado. Laurel is licensed to practice law in both the States of Washington and Utah, and for the past 25 years has practiced exclusively in the areas of estate planning, elder law, business succession planning, taxes, asset protection and charitable giving.

Laurel is a Certified Identity Theft Risk Managment Specialist and helps companies and institutions, both large and small, comply with the requirements of federal regulations, including those of the Fair and Accurate Credit Reporting Act (FACTA).

Laurel is the author of the book, Asset Protection Strategies. She is also an accomplished public speaker and has conducted estate planning, asset protection and identity theft workshops for various groups and organizations including:

In addition to her legal expertise, Laurel brings warmth and compassion to the practice of law. Years of life’s experiences, including being widowed at a very young age, give her a unique perspective uncommon among lawyers.

Laurel has always been involved in civic and service projects. She served as Chair for the Downtown Advisory Board of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and is currently serving as a member of the Pleasant Grove Board of Adjustments. That, along with mentoring her many children, step-children and grandchildren keep her busy enough that she doesn’t do nearly enough hiking!
